2023 CBA Funding Delivery Day

We enjoyed delivering CBA grants to the 19 agencies selected for 2023! This year, the selected agencies received their checks in-person and our team of members were thrilled to surprise all of the wonderful agencies.

Past Advocacy Events

In 2022, we held our Cinco de Mayo Advocacy Event at Mission Road Developmental Center. We had an amazing celebration for the children which included games, face-painting, music, paletas, a food truck, musical chairs and much, much more.

In 2016- 2019, families from nonprofit agencies were treated to an afternoon at Morgan’s Wonderland by CBA Sponsors. Children from Respite Care, Any Baby Can, Seton Home, YMCA and Kinetic Kids along with their parents, siblings and caretakers from the agencies attended. Thank you to Morgan’s Wonderland for the use of their fabulous facilities to make these childrens’ dreams come true.

In June of 2015, CBA sponsors traveled to Daily Bread Ministries where they hosted a fun fair for about 50 elementary children with interactive games, face painting, balloon animals and much, much more.

In May, 2014, sponsors traveled to the San Anto Cultural Arts center and in honor of our 60th anniversary, helped students paint a mural of the CBA chrysanthemum logo and added finishing touches to their new garden area.

On May 9, 2013, CBA sponsors helped students plant an organic garden at San Antonio Can High School.

In 2012, the event was an April 3 Carnival at the St. Peter – St. Joseph Children’s Home. Residents and staff from St. PJ’s gathered with CBA sponsors to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and games. Other partners donating to this event included Papa John’s Pizza, The CE Group, Inc., Lily’s Cookies, Saint Mary’s Hall, and Woodridge Elementary School.

In 2011, The Charity Ball Association returned to Respite Care bringing fun, food and festivities to the families and special needs children, celebrating the successes and impact this organization has had on our community.

In 2010, the event was a collaboration with a variety of United Way agencies called Kid’s Day. Thousands of children and their parents were treated to a day of games, healthy food and fun and they left with information on literacy and an activity.

In 2008 and 2009 The Charity Ball Association and the Family Service Association joined forces to host a “Family Fiesta” at The Neighborhood Place at 3014 Rivas Street. Free food, games and fun were provided for the families in the neighborhood. Our members worked in the game booths and helped prepare and hand out food. Vital information about the programs and services that are available to them through FSA, and specifically The Neighborhood Place, was provided to all that attended.

The first event in 2007 honored Respite Care, a unique and amazing organization that assists families with special needs children.
