Enhancing Children's Quality of Life through Generosity and Advocacy
The Charity Ball Association of San Antonio, Inc. is a passionate non-profit organization committed to supporting and improving the lives of children in Bexar County. Founded by visionary and compassionate women, we recognized the unmet basic needs of our community’s children. Today, we continue our mission to create nurturing environments with lasting value for the minds, bodies, and spirits of children in need.
Our focus is on “bricks and mortar” projects that have a tangible and long-term impact. We believe in providing children with nurturing spaces that promote their overall well-being. However, securing funding for such projects has always been a challenge. While other organizations primarily fund programs, we aim to fill the gap by supporting infrastructure, including roofs, examining rooms, playgrounds, and more.
Over the years, we have disbursed over $26 million in grants to over two hundred different children’s charities. These grants have facilitated the construction of playgrounds, remodeling and repairs of structures, and the creation of essential facilities like gymnasiums, treatment rooms, and classrooms. We take pride in the fact that many of the initial beneficiaries, such as The Guadalupe Community Center, Inman Christian Center, and St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home, continue to serve the community today. In 2022 alone, with the invaluable support of our donors, we donated over $1.114 million to 16 deserving San Antonio agencies. The funds were raised through our major initiatives, including the Rotogravure, the Children’s Book, Patron Contributions, Prize Tickets, and the Ball itself. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for children and provide them with solid foundations for a brighter future. The Charity Ball Association operates without executive offices, an executive director, or administrative costs. This allows us to maximize the funds directed towards benefiting children. We are driven by our unwavering dedication and energy, along with our renewed focus on addressing root causes, fostering community collaboration, and advocating for children’s welfare.
